A First-in-the-Country Long-Term Care Externship
Launched in 2022 at the University of Washington, the Long-Term Care Externship aims to improve the quality of care for LTC residents and spark nursing students’ interest in Long-Term Care careers.
Information for UW School of Nursing Students
- The course is a 2-credit clinical elective offering for BSN 2 students.
- The course is an elective taken over two consecutive quarters.
- The next offering of the course will be Fall 2024 through Winter 2025.
- Students work 6 clinical hours per week and attend one weekly seminar class.
- Students receive a scholarship and are paid for clinical hours.
- We are not yet recruiting for 2025 externship, but please email gw1197@uw.edu if you have any questions.
